HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009
Happy and Healthy New Year to all! We look forward to many new and exciting projects, activities and opportunities for learning in 2009. Our holiday concert was a success and we ended 2008 with much learning and growth under our belts.
In the new year in Language Arts we will continue to read new stories, learn new spelling patterns and practice additional forms of writing.
In Mathematics, we will continue to add and subtract one and two digit numbers with and without regrouping and then move on to learn about Time and Money.
In Religion, we will continue to practice our reconciliation themes as many of the students prepare to make the sacrament of First Reconciliation in January. After this, we will continue practicing from our Faith First books and begin learning about First Eucharist to prepare for this holy sacrament later in the year.
The students are so excited to begin Cursive Writng in Penmanship, many of them have been practicing on their own and they can't wait to begin in earnest.
We will contine to learn about the landforms that make up our earth and continue to read about Current Events in Social Studies. In Science, we will begin our unit on the life cycles and habitats of animals.
Mrs. Murray and I look forward to an excting 2009 and we thank you all for your generosity, support and commitment in 2008. Blessing to all!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Murray (2-1)
Mrs. Duffin (2-3)
