The leadership
of St. Pius V Parish, in 1998
and again in 2000, made and affirmed the decision to formalize the Ministry of
Advancement/Development for our parish and school. The ministry of
Advancement/Development provides each of us an opportunity to review his or her
relationship with God established through our Baptism. As baptized
Catholic Christians, we are stewards of the gifts that God has given us.
Each one of us, in his or her way, is called upon to use these gifts in
fulfillment of our baptismal commitment.
The Living Endowment of
the 20th century, namely the
priests and religious men and women who staffed and served our parishes,
schools, and religious education programs, is no longer available to us to the
same extent as in the past. This reality demands a new understanding of
each person's faith relationship. Our stewardship calls us to be lifelong
caretakers of God's spiritual and earthly blessings. Stewardship is a
lifestyle, a lifestyle through which we commit ourselves to our faith community
in terms of time, talent, and treasure.
And so, stewardship is not separate from our Christian identity. It is,
indeed, an integral part of that identity. As daughters and sons of God,
we are also heirs of the kingdom. As heirs, it rests in our hands to
assure that God's "kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven."
*** Consider making a
Gift to St. Pius V Parish and/or School
***
Endowment Funds:
Endowment
gifts may be restricted or unrestricted. Gifts specified for endowment
purposes support the Parish Development Fund, St. Pius V School Endowment,
designated scholarships, teacher advancement, and parish ministries.
Memorial/Honor Gifts:
Memorial
and Honor gifts are a meaningful way to remember a loved one by commemorating a
special event such as a birthday, graduation, or anniversary.
Memorial/Honor cards are available at the St. Pius V Development Center
(781-595-2175).
Annual Fund:
The Annual
Fund involves unrestricted giving from Alumni, Parents, Grandparents,
Parishioners, and Friends. Each year the Annual Fund helps St. Pius V
School fund new programs and renew current activities.
Planned Giving:
Planned
gifts are gifts made through wills and bequests, trusts, annuities, or life
insurance. These gifts may also provide a tax advantage when determining
estate or inheritance taxes.
Gifts of Time and Talent:
The time
and talents of parishioners and parents are a most valuable asset. The
skills and expertise of each parishioner can help our parish and school in
myriad ways.
Special Needs Collection:
St. Pius V
Parish' annual Special Needs Collection provides dollars for capital
improvements in our parish.
Forms a
gift can take:
Appreciated
Securities:
Gifts of
securities may be made in person, through a broker, or through the mail.
Appreciated securities donated to the parish or school avoid capital gains taxes
and may provide additional income tax reductions for the donor.
Auto Insurance:
Columbia
Insurance has designed a program for the St. Pius V Parish. As a group
insurance program for its parishioners, participants receive a discount on their
auto insurance and a percentage may be directed to St. Pius V Parish. For
more information call John Olson, Columbia Insurance (781-598-5000).
Bequests/Wills:
Gifts by
will in the form of cash, securities, or other property may be fully deductible
in determining federal estate and inheritance taxes.
Cash:
Your gift
of cash can provide immediate tax savings through deductions and provides the
Parish and/or School with funds for current use.
Guardian Angel
Program:
Guardian
Angel donors agree to sponsor a child attending St. Pius V School for one or
more years. The donor determines the amount of annual support. Each
gift helps a family provide a sound Catholic education for a child.
Personal Property:
Gifts of
property such as art works, furniture, jewelry, antiques, rare books, or
manuscripts can enrich the parish/school's resource in many ways. |
