Happy Catholic Schools Week! In the week ahead, we will study China and its people. We will practice writing some Chinese words and numbers and make a paper lantern and dragon. We will read some Chinese stories and have a Chinese New Year's party with pineapple chunks and fortune cookies.
We will learn about Ash Wednesday and how it is the first day of our preparation for Easter. We will learn to try to do more things that show we love God and others.
I have been teaching at St. Pius V since the late 1990s. I have taught third and first grade. I enjoy teaching first grade now because I help to provide my students with a foundation and love for learning. I graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Philosophy. After graduating I went back to school for Education. I am now a parent of twin boys in the fifth grade here at St. Pius V.
