Welcome To Grade 5
Fifth grade is an exciting year! This is the first time the students will be on the second floor and will be buddies with our second graders. We have many wonderful things planned and I look forward to working with all of you.
This year, grade 5 will be learning about US History. We start with early civilizations, Native Americans, and continue onto colonial life. I have many fun and excited projects planned for the students that we will be working on throughout the year.
In Language Arts this year, both grades will be focusing on grammar, sentence structure, and various forms of writing. Students in both grades will also have a weekly spelling test on Friday. Spelling words will be given on Mondays and nightly homework in given. Homework is to completed neatly, in cursive, and in pen only. Please visit www.spellingcity.com to help your student study for the tests. They offer free games for your child to enjoy.
We hope to see you at our monthly school liturgies.
Being a teacher has been a dream of mine since I was ten years old. In 1987, I graduated from Salem State University and started my career. I have had the privilege of teaching at St. Pius V school since 2004. Preparing successful learners in a kind and caring environment has always been a goal of mine. I especially love to find creative ways for the students to share their knowledge.
