MATH FAIR |

|
The Math Fair is held in the evening in conjunction with the Academic Fair and Ice Cream Social. The goal of the Math Fair is to promote an appreciation for the real-world application of mathematics. Each eighth grade student is responsible for preparing a project that is both educational and engaging. Students present their math projects to their classmates during the weeks leading up to the Math Fair. On the day of the Math Fair, students present their projects to the visiting homeroom classes and lead their visitors through the age-appropriate activities that they have prepared. |

| Two eighth grade students pose for a picture with their project on the Rubik's Cube. The students taught visitors how to use an algorithm to solve the Rubik's Cube and wowed visitors with their ability to solve the puzzle in just a few minutes. | These eighth grade students completed their project on symmetry. They identified the many different types of symmetry that exist and taught their visitors how to determine if a figure is symmetric. | ||||||||
